random generated computer name ?

hey everyone ..

i have a lab, when installing few pc's together (which plugged to same network..)

i get system error - duplicate pc name exists on network...

how do i config my winnt.sif to generate a random pc name like the normal setup does ?

If you add the following into your 'Winnt.sif' this should help you...

[UserData]
ComputerName=*

According to the Setup Manager, (a wizard-based program for creating answer files) this does the following...

Automatically generate computer names based on the organization name specified on the Name and Organization page

Of course it is reffering to what you put in on a previous page of that wizard, but it also rings true for when you are setting up/installing Windows.
