where to put chipset driver?

Recommended Posts

I need to know where my Intel 5.00.1012 chipset drivers go, I can't seem to find specific intructions.

* If I put the chipset drivers in FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS will this work? Will it integrate the drivers into the install?

I'm not sure HOW XPCREATE propagates it's driver list.....

but you added your CHIPSET to FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS you would then need to make an winnt.sif file and add the path to OEMPnPDriversPath ( unattended.msfn.org for help ), but it will not be added to TXTSETUP.SIF i don't think like the raids would.

Follow that, but keep in mind, if you're driver is not listed there, it may not work. It has to be digitally signed.

Just put the chipset drivers into in FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\001, add DRIVERS\001 to the OEMPnPDriversPath in WINNT.SIF, and you should be fine. In short, standard procedure. RAID is special case, as they need to be "integrated" into the source. Hope that get's you going!
