PeterL Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Installing applications on Windows XP SP2, I get a window/message "Open File - Security Warning" on the screen when launching the installer/setup program. The message says "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" It also displays Name, Publisher, Type and From. I can choose between two alternatives - Run and Cancel.I only get this message on a few setup programs:- Core FTP Pro 1.3b: I get the message- Core FTP Lite 1.3b: NO message- SpybotSD 1.3: I get the message- WinZip 9.0: NO messageDoes anyone know why this message appear (new feature of SP2?), how it's controlled, etc. It's quite irritating because it makes my automatic/unattended setup manual.
MCT Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 i dont use sp2, but its controlled by the firewall i think, or security centerregards
