BradBo Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Hi,I have been running a program called 3DMark from MadOnion.com lately, and am getting a way low score for my computer.Asus Mobo P4S333Asus Ti 200 G3 video 512 megs ddr ramI even tweeked things faster and I am only getting 3/4 of the speed I should easly get from my system. My O.S. drive is very full, like 4/5th full.Someone said this might slow things and also I might have installed the MoBo drivers wrong. Now after all that I want to reformat my H.D.What is a good procedure to save only information I need.I would like to know where all my Outlook Express information like email addresses and saved emails are located. And where all my saved Internet Explorer sites are saved. Is there a simple process for saving things generaly used before a full reformat. Thanks,Brad
sedative Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 open outlook.. File->Export->Messages & Address Bookyour favorites should be located at C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\FavoritesI'd suggest saving all that stuff on a cd if possible. also don't forget to save things like your FlashFXP bookmarks and such.
FthrJACK Posted July 25, 2002 Posted July 25, 2002 try different drivers for your vid card and install mobo drivers, also make sure the pc is defragged.then reboot the pc and leave it stood for about an hour, then try benchmark it you should get beter performance
BradBo Posted July 26, 2002 Author Posted July 26, 2002 Thanks Ill do the defrag first then I'll do the backup.good suggestions.Brad
