Sound Problems

Recommended Posts

I am running WinXP Pro, which I just install a week ago.

I played music for the first time and its all crackily.

Its not the speakers tried them on another comp.

I have a had pro on this machine before but I switch back to 2k where I had no sound probs, but now im back with xp pro and probs. The sound probs did occur when I had pro on the machine before. I am not sure what the prob is. I went to the site of my sound card and they do not offer a driver for XP. I went into decive manager and all is good. So what is the deal.

My sc is a Montego II

Try this:

go to control panel->sounds and audio devices->the upper "advanced" button->make sure under "options" that "advanced" is checked.

Click on the advanced button below the volume control, and either check or uncheck "digital output only."

Hope this helps,

Phy
