RunOnceEx and REG ADD

Recommended Posts

hello All,

I have now got my Unattended to do what i what and it all works. :)

Now, i'm after doing a little tidying up and making it look nice, hence wanting to use RunOnceEx. Reading the unattended site, it says to use REG ADD.

My Question =>

Where do get REG ADD from?

Thanks, for any assistance.

REG.EXE Registry Console Tool For Windows

If you are running windows XP, you already have reg.exe (version 3) installed in your %systemroot% or %systemroot%\system32 folder.

Go to the command prompt and type REG ADD /? to get more infos about the syntax.

If you are running windows 2000, the file (version 2) is located in a cab file on the CD, just extract it to your %systemroot% or %systemroot%\system32 folder.

Don't remember the name and folder of the cab file for 2K

Aaron answer faster than me :) 2mn later...

Thanks All for your help with this.

I am running WindowsXP Pro.

I even opened a command shell and typed reg add /? but it gave that old chestnut "The name specified is not recognized as an internal or external command...............".

I will have another look when I get home, and physically inside the system32 directory this time, and yes show hidden files options is on, (just incase somebody adds it is hidden)
