Having trouble burning Longhorn 4074

I noticed that the file "Install.wim" on the Longhorn CD is the biggest file....how can I extract or expand this file so I can get access to the contents in it????

There are WIM extractors available, try searching google. It stands for "WIndows IMage". It seems like something parallel to ISO images.

Either that, or capture the files in the intermediate time between file-copy and setup. There's a topic somewhere here regarding how to modify existing files in it.

I've tried overburning onto a 700MB CDRW (I did go out and buy a 800MB CD just for this but every system I try it on reads it as 97MB for some reason) the full image burns fine, but then when I try to boot, it goes to a black screen, sits there for a minute reading the disc, then the machine restarts. I tried removing the docs, valueadd and support folders from the image and burnt that, but the same thing happens.

The only discs I have that will over burn this much are 4x 700MB CDRW, my CDRs come up with write errors just at the end.

Are there any fixes for this problem? (If you need any more info just ask)

Info about WIM extractors that were found on google - posted because someone asked for it (don't flame me if they don't work, some do and some don't):

WIMDump is a utility to extract

the contents of a Windows Image File, or adding new files to it. ...

You can find the official Windows Imaging program (xImage.Exe) on BetasIRC in two versions (v4007 supports WIMs of 4008 to 4053, while v4059 works with wims of 4029 to 4083. 5048 is unsupported, sorry!), look for the word xImage in the room of #betas-XDCC.
