tak Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Ask everybody , I want to download longhorn , Could you tell me where to download it ! Thank you very much !!Read:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8774We do not provide any download link for Longhorn. Don't ask.Thank you
prathapml Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I noticed that the file "Install.wim" on the Longhorn CD is the biggest file....how can I extract or expand this file so I can get access to the contents in it???? There are WIM extractors available, try searching google. It stands for "WIndows IMage". It seems like something parallel to ISO images.Either that, or capture the files in the intermediate time between file-copy and setup. There's a topic somewhere here regarding how to modify existing files in it.
harunaksoy Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Why don't you use cdshell and burn it on DVDread this http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/
Dark_Neo Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 I've tried overburning onto a 700MB CDRW (I did go out and buy a 800MB CD just for this but every system I try it on reads it as 97MB for some reason) the full image burns fine, but then when I try to boot, it goes to a black screen, sits there for a minute reading the disc, then the machine restarts. I tried removing the docs, valueadd and support folders from the image and burnt that, but the same thing happens. The only discs I have that will over burn this much are 4x 700MB CDRW, my CDRs come up with write errors just at the end.Are there any fixes for this problem? (If you need any more info just ask)
prathapml Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Info about WIM extractors that were found on google - posted because someone asked for it (don't flame me if they don't work, some do and some don't):http://users.telenet.be/aldatillian/main.htmlhttp://board.iexbeta.com/index.php?showtopic=32586Windows Image File dumperhttp://www.iexbeta.com/~tacobell/longhorn/...Dumper_v1.0.rarhttp://www.rwsbetas.com/index.php?showtopic=6498&view=newWIMDump is a utility to extractthe contents of a Windows Image File, or adding new files to it. ...Remember, this links is only for educational purposes (there's no illegal content in these links, but still a statutory warning), and keep in mind the notice posted at the top of this page. This is not a warez site! NetRolller 3D Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 I noticed that the file "Install.wim" on the Longhorn CD is the biggest file....how can I extract or expand this file so I can get access to the contents in it???? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You can find the official Windows Imaging program (xImage.Exe) on BetasIRC in two versions (v4007 supports WIMs of 4008 to 4053, while v4059 works with wims of 4029 to 4083. 5048 is unsupported, sorry!), look for the word xImage in the room of #betas-XDCC.
