mazin Posted July 21, 2004 Author Share Posted July 21, 2004 I should tell on myself, for some reason when I got to the connection bylan (because that's what I use) I never (DOWN 2) sorry for lameness.Your winamp.ini saves your connection type and most of your settings. This is why I refered to it to be copied after installation.So, you set your connection type to "Not Connected..." to prevent winamp from connecting to the Internet upon installation.Later, when your INI is copied, you'll restore the connection type. Solid as a rock Posted July 21, 2004 Share Posted July 21, 2004 This is my v5.03c and it's the full version, too.pls try a NEW download at www.winamp.com and first tick on DOWNLOAD and then on FREE and then on FULL. after download try setup handmatically (you can exit it without running the whole setup) and see if there is emusic. maybe they have now ripped that out....? i have downloaded it yesterday.i am curious to your answer.... mazin Posted July 21, 2004 Author Share Posted July 21, 2004 and now i see winamp open after setup and play a music " LIama whippin intro' "and winamp stay open too long and then it exit. i guess i have to shorten this time changes the 45000 to 35000? and is it possible to skip this intro and close it faster?Yes, you may need to adjust the sleep time to less than 45 seconds.But, you'd better do a test because the new lowered sleep time might not be sufficient for winamp.ini to replace the installed one.I've faced this problem when I lowered sleep time to 35 seconds.However, if your features are limited, I think 35 is good. bonedaddy Posted July 21, 2004 Share Posted July 21, 2004 @ Mazinworks very nice except for sp1 by nLite not installing audio drivers(new bug this ver) and also windows file protection bug same nLitever, nuhi will fix. prathapml Posted July 21, 2004 Share Posted July 21, 2004 May I suggest that you call your installer something other than "winamp.exe", so that when you "taskkill winamp.exe", only the app exits and not the installer (if still running) ? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mazin Posted July 21, 2004 Author Share Posted July 21, 2004 May I suggest that you call your installer something other than "winamp.exe", so that when you "taskkill winamp.exe", only the app exits and not the installer (if still running) ?There's sufficient room for the installer to finish because sleep time is long enough.However, we've given up taskkill already. We use %{F4} by JS, instead.Now, no sleep.exe nor taskkill. Even killing is prohibited everywhere. Thanks for your advice, prathapml. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bonedaddy Posted July 21, 2004 Share Posted July 21, 2004 I went back to that other method of installing winampin sp1 and there is no win file protection error. Do you think its the js causing this error? maybe because it see'sno audio driver? just guessing.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mazin Posted July 21, 2004 Author Share Posted July 21, 2004 JScript has nothing to do with WFP. It does not alter or even touch system files. SURE!All what happens when you run JS is that wscript.exe loads and reads it. Then, it checks its content and memorizes it, then executes it. This is why we don't see the JS itself in any way.If wscript.exe finds errors in your JS, it displays a message with the error on it. And, you'll have to close the message, so that the JS is terminated consequently.EDIT:What if you deselect "Sonic Ripping/Burning support"! Will WFP be gone?This feature has audio drivers. Maybe it's the problem. I guess! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bonedaddy Posted July 22, 2004 Share Posted July 22, 2004 well I got it figured out at least. It seems nLite was not keepingthe audio driver inf's or any inf's for that matter, and when Winampinstalled it saw no sound card and it didn't like that. I put the inf'smanually and install went perfect, check out the js file.function getWin(win, inc){var cntr = 0;while (!WshShell.AppActivate(win)){if (cntr==12) return true;cntr++;WScript.Sleep(inc);}return true;}var WshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");var oExec = WshShell.Exec("winamp.exe");while (oExec.Status == 0){WScript.Sleep(2000);getWin("Winamp Setup", 500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{ENTER}");//AgreeWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{TAB}");//moving tabstop to features paneWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting AgentWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting LibraryWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN 3}");//bypassing 3 featuresWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{RIGHT}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN 9}");//bypassing 9 featuresWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting sonic driverWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{LEFT 2}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting VideoWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting visualizationsWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{ENTER}");//hitting NextWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{ENTER}");//hitting Next for Destination FolderWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting start menuWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN}");//WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting desk top iconWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN 4}");//bypassing four featuresWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys (" ");//deselecting playlistWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{ENTER}");//hitting NextWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{DOWN 2}");//setting Internet Connection to Not connected...WScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{ENTER}");//hitting NextWScript.Sleep(500);WshShell.SendKeys ("{ENTER}");//hitting InstallWScript.Sleep(45000);WshShell.SendKeys ("%{F4}");//closing Winamp}WScript.quit();the down 9 was for sonic, I can keep it now that I know theproblem.Bonedaddy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
