You will notice that when you read my response that I am heavily biased towards Sony.

Apple is becoming paranoid and making statements even though they don't know what they're talking about because of Sony's upcoming mp3 player thing that will be competing with the iPod. I'm not saying anything bad about iPods; I think they're wonderful, but the Apple people need to shut their mouths because they're just making themselves look stupid.

According to this article, Apple said that Sony is new to the digital music market. That's one of the most outrageous things I've ever heard.

Well I guess it all depends on what digital music means. Even so, they do have products like the iPod already, like the Network Walkman line.

What is [digital music]? How do you define [digital music]? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then [digital music] is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. This is the world that you know. The world as it was at the end of the twentieth century. It exists now only as part of a neural-interactive simulation that we call the [*cough**inaudible**cough*]. You've been living in a dream world, [Doggie]. This is the world as it exists today.... Welcome to the Desert of the [Digital Music]. We have only bits and pieces of information but what we know for certain is that at some point in the early twenty-first century all of mankind was united in celebration. We marveled at our own magnificence as we gave birth to [programs from which one could download music for a set price per song or per CD, such as iTunes, Napster, or Real Rapshody].

I always thought digital music was just music that was digital (not analog). Sony had CD walkmen before I could button my pants correctly, let alone put on Tokugawapants.
