In searching for iso making utility for nlite due to copyright issues, I have chosen mkisofs, contacted the author and he gave me a green light.

But, there is many attributes for it and not all are welcomed.

Currently there is a long file name issue...it's trimming long file names and sometimes doesn't save the character properly, like ~ sign.

Lets say -U trigger solves character bugs but long filenames still gets trimmed (tried -J)...if someone is using this utility without any problem with windows cds please post your command line.

Thx.

There is also a version of mkisofs Here that supports duplicate file optimization much like CDImage does. No more need for DFL. :)

I'll try yours later, can't right now.

Mine was:

-N -U -no-emul-boot -b boot.bin -hide boot.bin

If you think on program i used, it was cdimage, no can do, only for ms internal.

edit: Jotnar, great, will check it.

updated since -U undoes most...i think joliet-long is the key. and thats really neat about the "unofficial" mkisofs...got rid of cygwin, allows dfl...though website is a little complicated...I dont see why in win32 it doesnt allow cache-inodes and follow-symlinks but in dos version it does. and the version before this one (moreover the one that allowed dlf) also used cache and follow
