raptor Posted July 14, 2002 Posted July 14, 2002 I am going to add some ram but in cking i find two different types PC100 and PC133 whats the difference
FthrJACK Posted July 14, 2002 Posted July 14, 2002 ones faster than the other, the pc 133 or 100 refers to its mhz.if your pc has pc133 ram in it and you put some pc100 in there next to it, your ram will all run as slow as the slowest stick, so best to get the pc133 stuff.if you arent sure, take your ram out and it is usually marked on there, usually on a sticker.some older pc's cant run pc133 but they are few and far between, so buying pc133 you will be ok. even if the ram in your pc is the slow type.. it wont matter you will have more ram, if you have the faster kind in there already then even beter because you will have more ram and not be slowing it down at all
XPerties Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Make sure your Motherboard can take pc133 first tho. Soem of the old motherboards only took pc100.-XPerties
