Unreal1186 Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 Hi, I was wondering... I have my XPCD made and everything and i wanted to put NORTON ANTIVIRUS 2003 PRO on it... Is there anyway that i could slipstream the latest virus definitions into it or something.. since it is an Unattended install...See, im a dialup user and i sure as hell hate doing live update as soon as windows installs. i want it to all be done as soon as I install and not having to worry about any updates! Can anyone help me?
killerbee Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 hi,if it helps - i'm installing the actual virus definitions from symantec silently after the virus scanner...cyaKiller Bee
WwTIPPYwW Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 it is possibleGet the latest defs from here - http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...s.download.htmlThen there is a folder in the install called \VIRUSDEF just download the latest defs and extract to this folder. It will use these files when it installs. You'll need to constantly keep these files up to date.
prathapml Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 You could do it like this:1. Delete all files\folderrs in \VIRUSDEF folder.2. Then, extract the newly downloaded AV-update into that folder. You'll find the replaced files are almost same, but larger now.So now, you are installing with the new virus definitions, by default.
