GreenMachine Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Welcome to MSFN, Naumi!Sorry, I've not seen that error. It really does not sound like an XPCREATE issue (but it could be: one never knows ... ), so you may have more luck posting in the Unattended Forum, if this one is not moved there soon.Wish I could help! Anyone else?
Naumi Posted July 1, 2004 Author Posted July 1, 2004 I found an entry that is on our basic SP1 Netshare installation in the dosnet.inf, that was missing in the XPcreated source:[ForceCopyDriverCabFiles]ntoskrnl.exendis.sysipsec.systcpip.sysnetbt.sysrdbss.sysmup.sysmrxsmb.systdi.sysksecdd.syskernel32.dllntdll.dllmsvcrt.dllmsvcrt40.dllmfc42.dllmfc42chs.dllmfc42cht.dllmfc42deu.dllmfc42esp.dllmfc42fra.dllmfc42ita.dllmfc42jpn.dllmfc42kor.dllbinlsvc.dlldhcpssvc.dllI added this section to the dosnet.inf I try now to install again. If i was successful I will post again!
Naumi Posted July 1, 2004 Author Posted July 1, 2004 Now I try step by steppatch for patchI Think there is one patch that causes the problem, because if I copie only slipstreamed Xp incl- SP1 Source to the shareit works

I was using XPCreate.ini:[XPCREATE]BOOTIMGFILE=BOOT\BOOT.BINCDBURNER=CDERASE=NOCDLABEL=XPpostSP1CDSPEED=24COPYSOURCE=YESDELISOS=NODELROOT=NODELTEMP=NODLAUTO=NODLURL=http://xpcreate.wiretapped.us/HFLISTSDOCABS=YESDOCD=NODOISO=YESDOPATH=NODOSATA=YESDOSVCPACK=YESDRIVERDIR=$OEM$\$1\DRIVERSEXITQUIET=NOOVERWRITEOEM=YESQLOG=SILENTINSTALL=YESSLIPHF1=YESSLIPHF2=NOSLIPMDC=NOSLIPSPK=NO for W2K say YESXPISO=XPCREATE.ISOXPSOURCE=g:4. After Success Delete following entry from dosnet.infd1,ASMS\60\MSFT\WINDOWS\COMMON\CONTROLS\comctl32.dll d1,ASMS\60\MSFT\WINDOWS\COMMON\CONTROLS\controls.cat d1,ASMS\60\MSFT\WINDOWS\COMMON\CONTROLS\controls.man d1,PCONFIG\60\COMCTL\comctl.cat d1,PCONFIG\60\COMCTL\comctl.man It also works for Windows 2000So I can say, that it must be an error from one of the others patches!!
GreenMachine Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Nice work, Naumi! Sorry to make you do it all yourself, but thank you for sharing the solution! Looks like you did a bit of testing. Once again, trial abd error: always works in the end.
Naumi Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 One I forgotI was wondering, but also the Qchain Applicationwas not needed for my solution!
GreenMachine Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Depends what and how you are installing, but my current installs require QCHAIN, and I've yet to see it cause an error. I always use it, and never wonder if I should.
