gordyb Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 I'm a newbie so please don't get ticked at me for asking. Is it possible to specify an installtion directory to install off cd with the runonce.cmd? Can't believe everyone puts all apps in C:\program files. Or do they and I'm the weird one? Thanks Much!
Nick2588 Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 It depends on the application's installer. Most things that run in silent mode don't let you choose the installation directory. Exceptions are the big, major programs like Microsoft Office. You can try running the setup.exe for the program with /r and seeing if a setup.iss file is created. If so, it should contain the settings you used to install the program (including the directory).
Lost Soul Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 heres a link that may help you in understanding what you can do with the runonceEx file hope you find it usefullhttp://unattended.msfn.org/xp/runonceex_cd.htm
gordyb Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 Thanks for the reply's. I did the MS OFFICE auto install "wizard" custom, and set it up to load to D:\program files however, it still goes to C:\program files. I can live with it as long as it works I'll try the others and look for the iss file you speak of.Thanks Again!
