Restoring inf folder (how to..?)

Hi all,

suppose, theoretically that somebody deleted the contents of their windows/inf folder, how would said person go about restoring it?

copy the files from the windows xp cd to put in place of the ones lost

sfc /scannow

Or copy and paste the list from setuplog.txt and then make a batch file to extract the files. All files copied to the inf folder are logged in this log file at the top.
