Yes, XPlode supports the ampersand character.

Since months, I've had text in the "display" string that use it, like:

display='Preparing & Installing Windows XP Hotfixes for IE/OE/IIS'

The above was an example taken from my XPlode 1.00's xml - I don't know if the latest version (which only supports unicode) has any changes to that.
