[urgent] User right not available ?

Hi there i am admin of a server and cannot access some files which i need to backup!

when i select properties of that particular map or file there is no user defined not even an admin.... how can i solve this ? i really really need a sollution!

Anyone can help plz

my server:

win2k pro sp4

disk quota's for 3 users: each 700mb space, that files need to be moved or copied!

For most files there are no rights specified it seems! how do i set user rights on that? i cant click add....

What are the Permissions on the files? Just take Ownership.

when i select properties i have no auth to view the user properties and cannot take ownership (tried that)

Try adding your administrator account to Backup Operators group.

Backup Operators can backup files even if they have no permissions to that files.

If it works, restore files to FAT32 partition. Then you will have access to them.

Also run this command from command prompt and post results here:

"cacls filename" (filename = file that you can't access)
