fcporto Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 I´m getting this «Explorer has caused an error in ALXTBI.DLL» It crashes my computer all the time. I´m a freelance designer and I can´t work. If you know what is this, I´d appreciate your help and might deliver some work you might need as my thanks for your help. Here it is what it shows up: «Explorer has caused an error in ALXTBI.DLL Explorer will now close If you continue to experience problems try restarting your computer» Well, I have done that, also ran Norton Utilities and still have this problem. Please help if you know what it is. Thanks. Paulo Sa Pereira

XtremeMaC Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 that I'd think would be irrelevant since this is 98/me forumI don't remember 98/me much but norton utilities might have removed a certain file thinking its bogus file? not likelycheck for spywarealso norton utils are not good as it seems they're good on anti-virus though..I'd check the cd for that file and see if u can copy it over?if it doesn't exist it might have came with another programwhy don't u search for that file and tell us where it is called from?if that doesn't work and if u'd like to upgrade to i
neosapience Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 This sounds like a virus to me. Be sure your anti-virus program is up to date. If you can't update it, try going here -http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.aspI also recommend using Spybot to remove spyware -http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=mirrors
