In my institution I have systems connected in to a LAN using REALTEK ethernet

card . I want to establish a connection with the two systems.

All the systems are connected to the server . I want to connect the two systems.

This two have windows 2000 professional installed and also Redhat linux 9.1

On two win98 systems i connected using network neighbourhood.

How can i connect this two win2k systems.

direct cable? slow

cross cable? 10/100/1000mbit depends on ethernet cards

firewire cable? 400/800mbit more expensive

:)

Id agree with XtremeMaC on that one -there are plenty of options.

All depends on types of cards etc.

Just make sure they're all sitting in the same WORKGROUP/DOMAIN.

yes there are plent of programs

I personally use ultravnc to connect to other computers in my home network

of course there are better programs

pc anywhere was pretty popular back in 2000 when i first got interested in remote control

i'd check that and I'm pretty sure there are billions of other programs

there is one that is advertised everywhere on every banner, gotomypc I belive was its name try that too

but for simple control i'd go with ultravnc....
