Alex T. Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Anyone know where I should put my Intel chipset drivers?
Alanoll Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 as XPCREATE doesn't slipstream the Chipset drivers,....FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\001_Intellwould be my guess, as all XPCREATE does it copy it over to the new root. You can call 001_Intell anything you want.
GreenMachine Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Right you be, Alanoll. XPCREATE doestn't treat these drivesr any different than any other file you may want to add to the CD.Welcome, Alex T., to MSFN!
Alex T. Posted June 7, 2004 Author Posted June 7, 2004 Thanks for your help guys. How about my Raid drivers? I have a Promise Fasttrack s150 in my system with my OS drive hooked up to it. After compiling the XP CD and booting off it, it couldn't find the drivers because the drivers weren't found. Where do the setup files need to be so I can automate the storage device driver installation process? On another note, the link to the hotfix autodownloader is dead.
GreenMachine Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 it couldn't find the drivers because the drivers weren't found. That must be Canadian for "I didn't add the drivers"!This page should answer your SATA questions:http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/XPCREATE/raid.htmAs for the Downloader Link, I would suggest you use the latest XPCREATE test version instead. I am not sure that the Downloader link will be resurected.
Alex T. Posted June 7, 2004 Author Posted June 7, 2004 LMAO, no thats just me being a dumbass and not paying attention to what I type. See, I can write coherent sentances too!
GreenMachine Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 ...coherent sentances ...So, we get a choice? Coherency, or spelling?
Alex T. Posted June 7, 2004 Author Posted June 7, 2004 FYI, I don't have the OEMPNP driver path in my winnt.sif file. Is that something I need to add manually?
GreenMachine Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 1) Place your drivers somewhere in the FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS directory tree. 2) Add the appropriate data to the OEMPnPDriversPath setting in WINNT.SIF.I would say affirmative.
Alex T. Posted June 7, 2004 Author Posted June 7, 2004 OK, but the intructions are not clear. Do I I add it like this?[OEMPnPDriversPath]what about the path to where teh drivers are?
GreenMachine Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Hmmmm ... I suggest you back up a step, read up here:http://unattended.msfn.organd here:http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/drivers.htmand then give it a go.
