kasandoro Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 When I try and overwrite an existing file in a CD image (.ISO) with WinISO, it tells me the file already exists and will be ignored. Is there a way to turn on overwriting? Because otherwise, I have to delete the files manually from the CD image.
Tribble Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 maybe ur iso file is write protected? cant imagine something else. If you dont get it working, try using UltraISO. This should work 100%, but i think its not needed to switch to another app, but who knows
LiquidSage Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I have a feeling you tried overwriting a bootable image w/ WinISO.
Tribble Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I have a feeling you tried overwriting a bootable image w/ WinISO.where is the problem to edit (replace files) in a bootable image? Dont think this is the problem.
LiquidSage Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 It is a problem. It does not write speciak builds like iso's that are optimized and other parameters that are now used. BartPE for instance. If your cd doesn't boot after playing with it, or it becomes corrupted all of a sudden, you probably used WinISO. It's been years since an update.
Tribble Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 thats why i said u need the right ISO Image Editor, so you are repeating me! But thats a different story. Using UltraISO to add/remove files in an iso image will not make the file corrupt. MagicISO will, for WinISO i dunno. I dont use it.And surely you can optimize your ISO File with UltraISO Just read the Whats New.txt from WinISO, it really needs an Update. If you take a look at UltraISO's What New.txt you will see they are doing nice job on making it a good iso image editor.Anyway, problems seems solved now, not? kasandoro?
LiquidSage Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 ummm...repeating you? I don't really think so. I was pointing out why WinISO was wrong for editing AIO'S and the like, esp. concerning the bootfiles.
Tribble Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 never mind lets hope kasandoro found his solution for his problem here.
