jdbeanie Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 HiI'm having major prob's with a Silicon Image Sil 0680 raid controller in that I can't get it intalled in XP. I've tried the drivers which come with the card and also the latest ones I can find frim Silicon's website.Everytime I go through the driver install I get an error that the data is invalid.Well I'm stuck - Anyone got any idea's ?????Thanks,James
jdbeanie Posted May 25, 2004 Author Posted May 25, 2004 I also get this error when try to setup the card as a normal controller. Again I have tried a number of differnet drivers to get around - alas no luckJames
zac68 Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Do you have Sp1 installed, I have been using this card for over 12 months and have never had a problem with it in Windows XP. In Windows 2000, I had the problems described here and the only way I could get around it was to reinstall Windows 2000 and press F6 at the start of the text phase of the install and install the drivers then.
jdbeanie Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 I certainly do have sp1 fow xp installed. I think I'll try Marsden option of a differnet PCI slot and then report back. I really don't want to have to rebuild JD
Seeker Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Hi!I've found the correct driver at the Silicon web site. The XP recognised my 0680 RAID controller. Try this link: http://12.24.47.40/display/2/kb/article.asp?aid=10020I downloded and installed the 0680a_rdrv1017.zip file.Seeker
Seeker Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Ups, one more mark. After restart the Windows, it was terrible slow. Nearly unworkable. So be careful with this driver, is seems it is not as good as I thought. And, does somebody know, why it slows down the windows?Seeker
