utln
You have to repackage IE with IEAK. Check out the 2KCREATE thread for more info on this and other issues that have come up with the Win2k builds.

ToBe
I've just started using XPCreate for my win2000 installations, what a GREAT tool!!! Awesome timesaver. Thank you GreenMachine. But I have a little problem....I try to install ie6... I've created an install package using greenmachine's tools, and the disc creation works just fine, but during install, when the ie6go.exe is launched to run the runonceex, it displays an error that "rundll32.exe have generated an error and will be closed by Windows. You need to restart the program." or something like that. (I'm using a localized version of win2k, so I'm translating the message to english.)I've installed without ie6 and everything works great. Only one update at WU (ie), but when I try to add ie, it errors out, and WU displays three updates.....I've made no changes to the files. Tried to change the syntax in ie6go.cmd, but it gives the same error. Are there any other updates I have to install to make this work? I'm just adding the critical ones.Any ideas? This is driving me nuts..
GreenMachine
Please try WITHOUT IE6GO.EXE and see if you have that same error at bootup time (it will NOT happen during setup, as IE will finish at reboot without IE6GO).
ToBe
Thank you for answering, greenmachine.Tried it and no errors. The ie final settings gets done after login and windows update lists 837009, 832894 and js56nsv as not installed.I will try again with no start /wait in the ie6go.cmd, just call rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess to see if that works. The odd thing is that if I open a command prompt after the error, I can start the runonceex process?I'll get back with the results. ToBe
Nope, removing the start /wait from ie6go.cmd didn't work either. Same error... Will post here if I find a solution.
ToBe
I used AirMaleDFW's tip to register the runonceex entries manually.This cmd-file, packaged as IE6_ROE.EXE with iexpress, and launched with switches /Q:A /R:N after the ie6 package in svcpack.inf, works like a charm!! You need reg.exe from a WinXP disc to get this to work, though...@ECHO OFFSET CDROM=IF EXIST D:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=D:IF EXIST E:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=E:IF EXIST F:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=F:IF EXIST G:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=G:IF EXIST H:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=H:IF EXIST I:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=I:IF EXIST J:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=J:IF EXIST K:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=K:IF EXIST L:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=L:IF EXIST M:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=M:IF EXIST N:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=N:IF EXIST O:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=O:IF EXIST P:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=P:IF EXIST Q:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=Q:IF EXIST R:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=R:IF EXIST S:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=S:IF EXIST T:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=T:IF EXIST U:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=U:IF EXIST V:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=V:IF EXIST W:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=W:IF EXIST X:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=X:IF EXIST Y:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=Y:IF EXIST Z:\CDROM_NT.5 SET CDROM=Z:COPY /Y %CDROM%\I386\SVCPACK\REG.EXE %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\reg.exeSET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceExREG DELETE %KEY% /v Title /fREG DELETE %KEY% /v Flags /fREG DELETE %KEY%\101 /fREG DELETE %KEY%\102 /fREG DELETE %KEY%\103 /fREG DELETE %KEY%\104 /fREG DELETE %KEY%\500 /fREG DELETE %KEY%\800 /fREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mlang.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\browseui.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\browseui.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\shdocvw.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\shdocvw.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\urlmon.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\browsewm.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mshtml.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\msrating.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\plugin.ocxREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\sendmail.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\asctrls.ocxREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\inetcpl.cplREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mshtml.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mshtmled.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\proctexe.ocx%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mshta.exe /registerREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\dxtrans.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\dxtmsft.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\mstime.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\comctl32.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\corpol.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\imgutil.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\pngfilt.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\msxml3.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\csseqchk.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\actxprxy.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\cdfview.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\inseng.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\iesetup.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\webcheck.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\occache.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\occache.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\iepeers.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\common files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\ieinfo5.ocx"REGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\msident.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\cryptdlg.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i:HKLM %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\digest.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i:HKLM %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\wininet.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s /i:HKLM %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\urlmon.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\msieftp.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\tdc.ocxREGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\common files\Microsoft Shared\VGX\vgx.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\inetcomm.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msoe.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\oeimport.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\oemiglib.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\common files\System\directdb.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\msoeacct.dllREGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\common files\System\wab32.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\wabimp.dll"REGSVR32.EXE /s "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\wabfind.dll"EXIT Edited May 25, 2004 by ToBe
