problem in making a new internet connection

Hi friends , hope you are all doing well, this time i'm facing a problem with making a new connection , I have installed windows xp Unattendedlly and it installed with no probs and now i tried to make an internet connection but i cannt get the option which i choose modem for the connection>>>and i reinstalled the windows again and again .. the the probs still there how can i solve this pls helpppp...

did u install the modem correctly?

check your hardware manager to see if the modem exist in there!

or I don't know if u have played with the services but enable telephony...

Hi thx for the reply... the modem has been installed correctlly and there is no problem in Hardware Manager ,and i never fingered the services , the telephony is started automaticlly.... i dont know how it gotting solved and i dont remmeber how i did it .. but the new problem is i could make a new internet connection and i also could establish a connection but when i open any site i get a msg says the page cannt be displayed .. and if i go to cmd and try to ping the server i get a msn ( pinging failed error code 65) and i checked the code , if you \have a firewalls installed you get this error but i didnt install any programs yet its only windows itself .. .. what should i do to solve this problem of mine pls...thxxxx

you can't create a new modem internet connection if your services have been stuffed with...

check that the following are enabled (manual):

Hi [bM]Crusher thx for the help .. they are both enabled (manual) , but this is not the problem now i can make a new modem internet connection with no problems , but the problem is when I get connected to the internet I cannt surf the net means any site i tried to open i get ( this page cannt be displayed) and i f I try to ping the server i get a MSG ( transmit failed , error code 65) ..

how can i solve this probs of mine pllssssssssssssssssssssss hellllppppppp

go to internet explorer options

go to connections tab

default everything

u know what for once install another browser

if u connect to the internet and cannot surf that is bc of ie. I once had that problem don't remember what i did to get it back to work.. try opera. I'm sure its going to work...

also do u have a firewall?
