todd Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 The menus dont seem to be the same when first booting into a cd with winnt.sif. Normally, you press Enter on the partition you want to install Windows on, and it asks if you want to leave it alone, format in ntfs, fat32, or quick methods of those. However, with the unattended, once you select the partition it simply states that it will overwrite files in \WINDOWS. How do i use the original where i can format the partition?
RyanVM Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 The only way I know of is to delete the partition and recreate it.
todd Posted May 14, 2004 Author Posted May 14, 2004 Well, with another partition, wouldnt that mess things up? Say i have partation A (C:) and partition B (D:) .. wouldnt that mess up partition B to delete and add partation A?Heres an explanation of the original situation in picturesNormal Setup- to -Unattended Setup- to -
nuhi Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 RyanVM is right, just delete it and install windows on Unpartitioned space, it will ask you for desired file system.Don't worry about corrupting other partitions, that won't happen.
