whenever i try to restart the comp using the restart button under start menu...the comp shutsdown instead leaving the system and the cpu fan running??? then i need to push the power button instead to shut it down...anyone care to help????


make sure you have the latest BIOS for your puter. many times, the behavior of the power button and shutdown process are controlled from there.

Yeah, sounds like it is going into a sleep mode or something. Make sure you also check settings in Power Management so that you have it set to restart when you tell it to do so. Also, any major software installs lately that may be causing this?
