Recommended Posts

I have a minor issue with my unattended xp cd. It does everything ok and all but it adds my username to a limited user group and not the admin group. Can someone please help me and tell me what is wrong!!!!

sorry,

This is my autologon.reg file

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]"DefaultUserName"="Michael"

"DefaultPassword"="#$@%&*"

"AutoAdminLogon"="1"

This is my useraccounts.cmd file

net user Michael #@$^*! /add

net localgroup Administrators Michael /add

net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited

REGEDIT /S autologon.reg

EXIT

It still adds me to the limited user group and wont install the programs untill i log out and back into the admin account.

well, the User is created....that's a start

try that

net localgroup Administrators Michael /add

command on the system and see if it works. Since you're from Australia Administrators shouldn't be spelled differently, but it could be. Make sure that's how Administrators is spelt on your version of XP that you're installing.

It looks right. In fact it looks like you copied straight from the site (atleast you looked at the site :) )
