dazkrlauwste Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 It seems that all of the hotfixes/updates are for Windows XP Professional. Can u (GreenMachine) make it also possible for Windows XP Home Edition?
GreenMachine Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 I believe the Help Update (hu1002_pro.exe) is the only XP Pro specific update. XPCREATE works fine with XP Home. As the difference between hotfixes needed for both versions is minimal, I will not be creating seperate XP Home/Pro sections in the Current Hotfixes List.
dazkrlauwste Posted May 4, 2004 Author Posted May 4, 2004 ok thats fine, so the only one thats different is the help update. the rest is the same for Home.
GreenMachine Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 That is my understanding ... Test it and post your findings, for the next interested person who finds this thread!
XtremeMaC Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 that file is avaliable like hu1002_per.exeor something similar. I'm away from my external hdd now can't look it up but i'm sure there is one, i have installed it b4.!most of the recommended updates are for pro versions for some reason. home has less ... anyways wu should be able to help ujust create a xp sp1 cd without any hotfix. put it on vmware or vpc go to wu and check which files are neccessary.and if u like this idea u can even create a topic and keep it up to date
