Indexes with Apache

How do I make Apache2 treat an index.php file just like it does an index.html file?

Open up your httpd.conf file (in Apache directory) and search for the word "DirectoryIndex". You should see "index.html" and maybe others... simply add index.php to the list. No commas or anything, make it look like this:

DirectoryIndex index.php index.html

That should do it!

I knew it was going to be something simple like that.

I have an apache book here (For ver 2 none the less) and I know I've seen that in there before, but I couldnt find it this time.

I'll let you all know my site address when its ready. My ISP finally gave me a dedicated IP with my account upgrade. As for the admins who already know my IP, there isnt much there but an empty index, so dont bother
