freemchr Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Hi Guys,Wanted to know if there is a tool or script that can be used to create an unattended cd.. unfortunately dont really want to follow 1000 steps to get one working.. Have seen a few on this site but are quite outdated.. is there any new scripts tools or even a basic iso that can be used for this purpose? Thanks in advance.. the easier to use the better!
dkreifus Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 I don't know what you mean by outdated. Using the GUIDE gets it done in no time. Just put a few minutes of effort, its really easy.
kenkueh Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 Seems like he is looking for something easy to do unattended cd, without learning what each command do, how they work or when they work. Or maybe he should ask someone to do for him.... Regards,Kenkueh
jrzycrim Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 I second that. XPCreate is invaluable. However, it will not hold your hand. There is no utility with which you can click a button and out pops a unattended CD.An unnattended CD can be as simple as a basic install with a custom answer file (winnt.sif) or a very complex creaton which includes service packs, hotfixes, applications, reg tweaks, custom themes, etc. What you have to do is figure out exactly what you want to include. If you want to include hotfixes, apps, tweaks, etc, you're not going to be able to throw it together in an hour. Creating a 'perfect' CD which installs all your apps and which sets up Windows exactly like you want can be a very long and tedious process. Any scripts or utilities which build unattended CDs cannot do everything automatically. You have to configure all the extras yourself. Cheers,
