Windows 98 installer won't detect my DVD drive even though it's IDE

i'm trying to install windows 98 on a 2005-ish pc that came with winxp. it seems like there are some drivers for the network and audio on the mobo so i wanted to give it a try. but it seems like the installer cannot see my IDE DVD drive. i tried changing a bunch of settings in the bios but no luck. can anyone help?

nevermind, turns out windows 98 didn't like my dvd drive, swapped it for another one and it worked
