I installed Windows 2000 on a Thinkpad x201 but cannot get it to play audio.

The sound system on the x201 is probably conexant 20585 smart hd audio.

KB888111 is already installed.

What I have tried
Installed the sound driver for x201 WindowsXP.

I rewrote part of the .inf file because it is not recognized normally.
It blue screens when installing or rebooting.

I would like to have audio output on the unit side if possible.

Have you previously installed an old version of the extended kernel ?
