rvrutten Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Hello everybody!I was wondering if it is posible to create an unattended DVD for Windows XP Pro.On the site: http://unattended.msfn.org/ they only talk about an unattended installation CD.I want to put some extra program's on the disk so everything is installed after the Setup is ready. Can anyone help me?Reinier(the Netherlands)
Aaron Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 It works the same way, DVD is just larger in capacity that's all
mace Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Yes, works fine...But it gets difficult if you want to install software directly from DVD and not from harddisk

killerbee Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 hi,if u use XPlode to Install ur apps and hotfixes it doesn't matter where the source-files are. It only matters from where u are calling XPlode. With the use of the #XPLODE#-Variable it's possible to install to install from everywhere - just start XPlode from there. For example:u have a Dir called Install which is in $OEM$\$1 atm. Put XPlode in it and put all apps in this folder or subfolder in Install. In XPlode call any app with #XPlode#\blabla.exe -switches. Now it's totally easy to put that folder in the root-dir on the CD/DVD and call XPlode from there - u don't have to change any paths and it runs from CD and Installs from there.hope this helps a bitcyaKiller Bee
mace Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 I didn't try xplode yet but I heard from it.@rvruttenIf you want to install from cd/dvd you have to know the driveletter from the drive.Since not everyone has only one Partition, the Driveletter differs...Perhaps you should try xplode in this case.

With the use of the #XPLODE#-Variable it's possible to install to install from everywhere - just start XPlode from there.I believe a better alternative if using XPlode, would be #SourceDrive#that returns jsut the D: of the installation path, so say you're installing from a network or CD/DVD doesn't matter, you get the drive from where Windows is being installed from.
