Last Virus definition files for MSE 4.4 under Windows XP

Hello,

I installed Microsoft Security Essential (MSE) v4.4.304.0 and now I am wondering where I can get the lastest Virus definition files for WinXP like described here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/175514-microsoft-security-essentials-and-windows-xp/#comment-1122545

Unfortunately the zippyshare Download is no more available.

Even if the Tool is gone or no longer works, could someone please provide the last version of Virus definition files for XP's MSE here, please?

Forget about MSE! AFAIK last definition files are from 2019! Furthermore it has never been a good antivirus and is a RAM waster. Use Avast, Eset , Panda or Malwarebytes instead. In my system I installed Avast years ago and it's working fine until now.

Besides the fact that MSE has never eaten much RAM for me, in my case there is plenty of RAM anyway.

The system is not for productive use and only handles files from 2016 or earlier. Therefor I'm fine with definitions from 2019. I just want to avoid any surprises as I sometime handle old data/floppies with it.

edit: Possibly one of the last definitions I came up with: https://web.archive.org/web/20190423162919/https://definitionupdates.microsoft.com/download/DefinitionUpdates/VersionedSignatures/AM/1.291.2489.0/x86/mpam-fe.exe

Maybe these 2807 definitions files are the very last. I do not use MSE but perhaps they are working. Link: https://msfn.org/board/topic/175514-microsoft-security-essentials-and-windows-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1165552

And the (second) ZippyShare Webproxy link of MSE updater 1.9 is still alive: https://msfn.org/board/topic/175514-microsoft-security-essentials-and-windows-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1122545

But I think the updater does not work anymore. Try it! AstroSkipper
