nmepar Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 I've just completed my first unatted install, which seemed to work well, no prompts anymore, appears to install hotfixes, then applications, then performs cleanup restart. Once I restart and logon, then got to check that the unattend configuration applied correctly, i see some anomolies : * display not set to requested resolution* components not configured as requested in winnt.sif ; eg IIS components not installed accessibility not removed pinball etc not removedCan anyone suggest how i should go about troubleshooting why this is so? See below for my winnt.sif Thanksnmepar;SetupMgrTag [Data]AutoPartition=0MsDosInitiated=0UnattendedInstall=Yes [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEulA=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS Unattendswitch="Yes" Repartition=No WaitForReboot="No" OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\002_Dellvga\Driver\2KXP_INF;Drivers\003_WireNic" DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore AutoActivate=Yes [GuiUnattended] OemSkipWelcome=1 AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=No OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=0 [Display] BitsPerPel=32 XResolution=1024 YResolution=768 [userData] ProductKey=??? Alanoll Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 i dunno about the Components, but the video is most likely because your drivers aren't loaded at the point when Windows does it's first start (when you applications get installed).http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/downloads.htmthere is a app there for changing the resolution
nmepar Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 @Alanoll,i figure your right about that, i'll give it a shot. Anybody able to review my winnt.sif for problems? Why do my components not configure correctly? Thanks allnmeparThe below is the order I am installing :t-60 - 1.Winnt.sif - references GuiRunOnce : hotfixes.cmd (for non svcpack fixes)t-13 - 2.svcpack.inf hotfixes are installed t-12 - 3.commandlines.txt called and initiates RunOnceEx.cmdt-0 - 4.reboot followed by GuiRunOnceEX which installs apps and calls: prepare.cmd cleanup.cmd tweaks.regt-0 - 5.Calls GuiRunOnce which calls hotfix.cmd
