james1bo Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 I have reformatted my computer. It has a 30gb hard drive on it. I am using xp as the os. but somehow only 256mb got recongnized. I want to know if there is a way for me to add the rest of the remaining space I have on the hd without having to reformat the entire thing and have to reinstall th os?Im working with xp.any ideas?
Justice Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 How do you have xp installed into 256mb of space? My fresh install of xp with nothing added takes up just over a gig's worth of space.
Skyfrog Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 but somehow only 256mb got recongnized. Are you sure you aren't looking at the amount of RAM rather than disk space?
XtremeMaC Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 heh 1st of all xp won't allow u to install unless u've 700mb's or it was something close to that number.. 2nd as said its probably your ram.double click my computer, right click on "c:" and go to properties to look at the size of the hdd.or go to start menu, click on my comp , right click on "c:" and go to properties to look at the size of the hdd.I very much wonder how u formatted it!
