h3kt0r
I was reading a few posts on this forum and found so much interesting information that i registered an account. Last month, i've installed Win XP once again and am looking for resources to improve my system (which is a netbook released in 2008). So i guess i came to the right place.

Mind telling me your netbook model (most of those had the exact same specs, so no need to say them)? I wonder if we owned the same one back then, honestly nowadays they genuinely make pretty decent XP machines given their support for SSE2, even if their graphics support is beyond lacking to say the least lol (Graphics Media Decelerator heh) Edited November 1, 2020 by Koishi Komeiji
h3kt0r
Netbook is Acer Aspire One ZG5, beefed up with 1.5Gb RAM, ZTC Cyclone 64Gb SSD (ZIF PATA), Ralink 802.11n Wifi card, 256Gb SD card for added storage, 128Gb micro SD card for swap/downloads/browser cache, 9 cells battery (up to 10h autonomy wifi turned off). I've applied new thermal paste, canibalized speakers from a bigger laptop so now the netbook has good sound. It's really fast running XP, the thermal paste and SSD made a big performance improvement. Integrated graphics is Intel GMA 945 but i've installed "Trixarian Chell 1.7b" moded drivers for a welcome performance boost. Lots of games runs just fine : Wizardry 8, Freelancer, Sim City 3000, Homeworld, Dungeon Siege, etc... SNES, PC Engine and Genesis emulation too... I've yet to try PS1.

h3kt0r
Blue it is, indeed. I've seen these selling on EBay for 30 bucks... Good for retro-gaming.
