SWFlash.cab doesn't integrate correctly

Hi all

A quick note to mention that the swflash.cab download doesn't seem to work properly in the xpcreate process.

I get this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- 14:41:10 -- Updating Macromedia Flash.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft ® File Expansion Utility  Version 5.1.2600.0

Copyright © Microsoft Corp 1990-1999.  All rights reserved.

Expanding svc-swf\swflash.cab to .\Flash.ocx.

Microsoft ® File Expansion Utility  Version 5.1.2600.0

Expanding svc-swf\swflash.cab to .\swflash.inf.

        1 file(s) copied.

Can't open input file: cdroot\i386\swflash.in_.

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.INF

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.OCX

2 File(s) copied

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.INF

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.OCX

2 File(s) copied

Have they changed the package?

Also had a few other things I've had to take out of a build...still trying to get it to finish the build...the log doesnt record any errors in most cases and I "think" I've got all the hotfixes in the right place - been using Jono's downloading script...not sure about a few parts of it but many thanks - definately helps

Nice to see how much busier its got here....it's been soooo long since I posted/visited this (@GM :) )

Thanks,

Nathan

Should look like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- 15:20:15 -- Updating Macromedia Flash.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft ® File Expansion Utility  Version 5.1.2600.0

Copyright © Microsoft Corp 1990-1999.  All rights reserved.

Expanding svc-swf\swflash.cab to .\Flash.ocx.

Microsoft ® File Expansion Utility  Version 5.1.2600.0

Expanding svc-swf\swflash.cab to .\swflash.inf.

        1 file(s) copied.

Microsoft ® File Expansion Utility  Version 5.1.2600.0

Copyright © Microsoft Corp 1990-1999.  All rights reserved.

Expanding cdroot\i386\swflash.in_ to swflash.inf.

cdroot\i386\swflash.in_: 644 bytes expanded to 1609 bytes, 149% increase.

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.INF

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.OCX

2 File(s) copied

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.INF

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.OCX

2 File(s) copied

The problem is in the XP source, not the XPCREATE integration or SWFLASH.CAB file: cdroot\i386\swflash.in_ is not found.

yep...I know what the error msg means - its just the cab that was downloaded (their latest version from their website using Jono's downloader script) didn't contain that file...think it was already uncompresssed i.e. swflash.inf.

Any suggestions on which one to use? where to get it from?

Will it still work as the file is uncompressed/unpacked already?

The process still carries on so....?

Cheers GM,

@Jono

Thanks for the links.

@all

aha...I notice in the quoted log in my first post at the top that although it can't expand swflash.in_

Can't open input file: cdroot\i386\swflash.in_.
it doesn't need to as they don't compress/pack the .inf file anymore it would seem.

The rest shows that it still copies the files regardless i.e.

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.INF

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.OCX

2 File(s) copied

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.INF

TEMP\SVC-SWF\SWFLASH.OCX

2 File(s) copied

Correct? @GM

N.

SWFLASH.CAB has not changed, and is still version 7,0,19,0.

The error states clearly the missing file in question ... check your XP source.
