Reformatting A XP HDD

I want to wipe my HDD clean and reinstall XP as there is so much junk on board now, causing a few minor irritations.

Could anyone tell me how to reformat and reinstall XP? I have the XPHOME CDRom and boot disks but I am unsure of the process.

Many thanks for your replies. It doesn't now sound as daunting as first thought. I will give it a go at the weekend
