MartinW Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Hi all,When creating my first Unattend-CD I get this message at T-39Error:Installation Failed: D:\I386\asms. Error Message: Incorrect Function.Any solutions to it?I'm using Windows XP Pro SP1.Thanks,
XtremeMaC Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 u didn't remove asms dir right?it also happens for another reason. (had happened to me once) i don't remember the cause of it.
Zhoerd Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Did you play around with jumper settings on the hard disk? Or been changing cd-rom drives?
MartinW Posted April 6, 2004 Author Posted April 6, 2004 No, I haven't played around with anything. When I installed XP with the original disc it worked fine. Twice.
Aaron Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Its more likely a bad burn, how did you create the ISO or burn the files?
MartinW Posted April 6, 2004 Author Posted April 6, 2004 I use the ISO creation tool that is recommended here on the unattend.msfn.org site. And I burn them with Nero to CD-Rs (also tried a bunch of times to CD-RWs with same result.
firstodd Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 (edited) I use the ISO creation tool that is recommended here on the unattend.msfn.org site. And I burn them with Nero to CD-Rs (also tried a bunch of times to CD-RWs with same result.I just got past the error while installing Windows MCE by burning my disc back-up with PowerISO (which I used to make it) rather than Nero. All the Nero copies gave me this error, the PowerISO copy was fine. Same disc brand, same hardware plugged in, etc. I think it might have something to do with encryption or security.
