CuBie Posted April 3, 2004 Share Posted April 3, 2004 Hi there, im trying to edit my windows xp installation cd so when it boots into pe, it dosent boot the setup for windows xp (winnt32.exe i believe) straight away - i want it to boot another file, windows explorer... so, does anybody know where the filename for the file to boot upon loading windows pe is kept?My last resort would be renaming winnt32.exe to somthing else and putting explorer's filename as winnt32.exe!Thanks alot!Chris. CuBie Posted April 4, 2004 Author Share Posted April 4, 2004 Right.When You're Installing windows XP from dos, after it finish's copying files it loads into windows PE and loads the windows setup installation file to continue installing.I want to change the file that boots when the setup loads into PE.
