April 3, 200422 yr Hi there, im trying to edit my windows xp installation cd so when it boots into pe, it dosent boot the setup for windows xp (winnt32.exe i believe) straight away - i want it to boot another file, windows explorer... so, does anybody know where the filename for the file to boot upon loading windows pe is kept?My last resort would be renaming winnt32.exe to somthing else and putting explorer's filename as winnt32.exe!Thanks alot!Chris.
April 3, 200422 yr I guess what you are asking is not the CMD.EXE /K, right you mean the winXP starting sceen?
April 4, 200422 yr I assume it would be setupldr.bin, but I could be wrong. But then again I am still confused about the topic, so you are looking to see when booting WinPE, which file actualy starts WinPE or XP?
