mike13 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I downloaded and installed KB 3073930, (I think), that update that lets you decide what updates to get or something like that. I say (I Think) because I do not see that item in Program and Features. Not sure I chose the right options when I downloaded KB 3073930. Anyway I went to Settings, Updates etc. It found three updates. Cumulative Update for Windows 10 KB 3081436, Windows malicious Removal Tool KB 890830, and Security update for IE Flash Player for Windows 10 KB 3087916. Nothing happens. It says it is downloading, but that was a half hour ago, and I do not believe anything is happening. Suggestions, please. Mike
mike13 Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Update. I did a System Restore back to August 5th. Now it is finding, downloading, and installing the 8 updates it found. So that is good. However I now noticed that some of the items I have on the desktop do not open. Such as Money, weather, News, Maps etc. Settings, Control Panel, and Cortana DO open. Going to bed now. Will try again tomorrow. Mike
NoelC Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 You would not normally use the KB3073930 tool to do the updates, just to check for them. Once you have vetted and optionally hidden updates, you'd want to use the normal Settings panel for downloading and installing the updates. -Noel
