not sure if this has been covered. Apologies if it has.

I am starting my unattend with a boot disk where I enter the hostname of the machine and select whether I am going to do a laptop install or a desktop install.

the problem I am having is I can't seem to work out how to pass the hostname I entered to the computername in the unattend.txt file. can someone help me out with this?

How to pass the hostname? I don't really understand the question.

If you want to enter the Computer Name manually, remove the ComputerName= entry in winnt.sif

It sets a variable called %Computername% for future use

its ok guys. I found a little executable called change.exe that helps me do this
