Please Insert Windows XP Disk 1 in Drive A

I created a WinXP CD slipstreamed w/SP1 and the update rollup. When I try to run setup, it asks me to Insert the Windows XP Disk 1 in Drive A.

Why is this message coming up? Any suggestions appreciated.

This error has to do with your marker files. You'll need at least 3 files in the root of your CD for this error to go away. For Windows XP Pro at the SP1 level, the files are:

WIN51 (no extension)

WIN51IP (no extension)

WIN51IP.SP1

For Home edition, substitute each IP with IC.

The file contents aren't important, but the names must be capitalized. Your iso/burning tool may do this automatically.

Everthing was copasetic xcept for WIN51IC.SP1 which was in lowercase. I renamed it and will try this again. Thanks for the help!
