How to run latest iTunes on Windows 2000.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Here is a simplified tutorial on how to use iTunes on Windows 2000.

1)Download the latest daily release of UURollup or Extended Kernel.

2)For UURollup users only:Download latest KDW. Do not install it! Extract it and run fcwin2k.exe.

It is already included in the Extended Kernel HFSLIP.

3)Download the iTunes installer from Apple. Extract it.

4)Open iTunes.msi in fcwin2k.exe. Check "Win2k" in the "Allow Setup" box. Click "Apply MSI". Then, make sure that comp.mode is set to XP SP3. Click "RunCompat".

5)Run the iTunes.msi file. Reboot your PC.

6)Repeat Steps 4 & 5 for AppleApplicationSupport.msi.

7)If you want to use mobile devices, repeat steps 4&5 for AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi, then install this iOS driver

8)After completing these steps, find the EXE of each program in the C:\Program Files folder.

9)Drag each exe on the fcwin2k.exe tool and set to comp.mode XP SP3. Either the exe's will start or the fcwin2k.exe tool will freeze. If it freezes, close it with the task manager. The apps should run.

Sound may seem choppy with iTunes. I don't know how to fix this.

***This is a custom ios driver and if anything happens to your PC, it is your responsibility. Back up any important data before installing iTunes.

You should use this installer

If iTunes 11.x shows "This program requires XP and later.", you set XP compatible mode with fcwin2k.
