ectavares Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 I have followed the tutorial that I found it here but I cant get it to work.I created a folder named xpcd I copied windows cd to this folder.I create the answer file .I choose to create a new answer file.I choose Windows Unattended InstallationWindows XP ProfessionalFully AutomatedNo,this answer file will be used to install from a cdand I accepted the EULA.after I renamed the file from unattend.txt to winnt.sif I copied it to c:\xpcd\i386and then I ran ISO Creator for Win Proafter that it created an ISO File on my C: drive and I extract its content to a folder and I burnt those file to a CD.I dont if I have done all correctly but when I install windows it still asks me for everything it wasnt suppose to.What should I do?I coulnd make a cd with windows xp and service pack already applied. :/
Aaron Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Why are you creating, then extracting the ISO to the hard disk as files? You're practically going back to square one doing that. If you use Nero, simply go to File > Burn Image, and select the iso file.
ectavares Posted March 22, 2004 Author Posted March 22, 2004 After I create the iso file( because the tutorial tells me to do it) and extract all the files to a folder (c:\test) and I burn to a cd with nero (choose new-cd iso)thx :/
Aaron Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 I don't know where you read that. I can't really help you if you read instructions from another site that I don't know of.Read the included readme.txt for instructions. Once the ISO is created, you can test your Windows Installation in VMWare or Virtual PC, and recreate the ISO again to fix any previous mistakes. Once perfected, you can burn the ISO straight to a CD-R disc. Both Easy CD Creator and Nero is able to support this.
ectavares Posted March 22, 2004 Author Posted March 22, 2004 Here is the address : http://unattended.msfn.org/ :/
Alanoll Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 yes....AaronXP designed that site...I don't even see where you got the create the image, then extract, then burn....unless You're starting from a RTM CD or something, made an ISO, extracted the files, and then added the unattended neccesary files to it, and THEN burned?
Alanoll Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 after that it created an ISO File on my C: drive and I extract its content to a folder and I burnt those file to a CD.after you make the ISO, BURN THE ISO! Like aaron side, you just went back to square one. It shouldn't account for your winnt.sif file not being used UNLESS you took files form the wrong location.
ectavares Posted March 22, 2004 Author Posted March 22, 2004 I was doing something wrong. Now I just burnt the iso file choosing cd bootable on nero but now when I put the cd in the cdrom I have a black screen and nothing happens. :/
Alanoll Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 please don't become another Famer. please oh please.Do you have Alcohol,Easy CD Creator, DVD Decryptor, or ANY other burning program? Do you have a VIRUTAL MACHINE software? Such as Virtual PC or VMWare? If not, go download the demo, and see if the ISO you create even works to being with instead of burning failures. When do you get hte black screen? You're being quite vague in your descriptions. In order to help you, we need to know exactly when it happens. Do you get the screen that says "Press Any key..." or the "Setup is now inspecting..." ? Do you get to the Blue screen?I'm no nero professional, but do you really have to tell it "CD Bootable"? I know in EasyCD you don't have to, and Alcohol and DVD Decryptor you just tell it what image to burn and it does it without any quesitons asked.
