Wraith Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 Just a small tool that allows you to import *.reg files into a different user's hive... providing you know the username and pass.Perfect for importing settings after a user account has already been created.Syntax:regimport.exe /user:Spike /pass:swordfish /file:regtest.regAny bugs, post them in the XPlode forum.regimport.zip
SlimShady Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 (edited) I think this is a stupid question... Say there is a user called Jim. During the unattended install you want to import some settings. (During cmdlines.txt)So, if I:- create the user Jim with password (During cmdlines.txt)- use this tool to import some settings for the userBut the the user has never logged in before.Would it work?edit: typo Edited March 19, 2004 by SlimShady
Wraith Posted March 19, 2004 Author Posted March 19, 2004 It should.I tested it here and it seemed toEDIT:Testing during an ACTUAL install now. Will get back to you within half an hour hopefully :/.EDIT #2:Not good. it won't run at T-13, T-12, or T-9.It should work fine on first logon tho, when everything is loaded.Oh well. Was a good idea at the time.
SlimShady Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 Yeah. But it's still a great tool. The best thing (and the idea) about this tool is:- You can import user-specific settings.Because it's alot of work to do it differently, this is perfect because you only need to write one command line.Perfect!
PsiMoon314 Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Hi,How would I go about enumerating all current users on a system and using REGIMPORT.EXE on each of them in turn (except perhaps the currently logged on user)?Kind RegardsSimon
