Disc defrag

If your computer is doing a disc defrag, and you start using the computer, does the Defrag stop, or does it continue to run in the background, which has to slow the computer a bit ?? Thanks, Mike

it should stop, as it starts and runs only when PC is idle

you can also run taskmanager and look if defrag.exe is there while you work
