AnX Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) Hello MSFN. I'm using Windows 2000 with UUR 11 and Skype 5.3. Now for some reason, the playback device does not work properly. I'd like to know if the drivers are messed up or something similar. Thanks.I'm using Realtek HD audio btw. Edited July 13, 2013 by AnX
tomasz86 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) No idea why it doesn't work but I can confirm that Skype 5.3 6.3 itself does work correcly in Windows 2000 with UURollup-v11 installed. Edit: Fixed a mistake. Edited July 13, 2013 by tomasz86
AnX Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 It says that "skype cannot access your sound card". I'm also having issues with other software that "can't access my sound card".I also have an nVidia display audio driver installed, should I try to uninstall that? Please try and help me.
tomasz86 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I misread 5.3 for 6.3 Is there any reason why you're not using Skype 6.3? It should work correctly.
AnX Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Gives me some sort of memory error. Can you point me to where I can find an installer that's Win2k compatibleAnd the sound issues are my drivers, I've updated and the Sound recorder issue is gone, but the Skype issues remain.Maybe if I install older drivers I'll have good luck?
tomasz86 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I don't think that changing the drivers will make any difference. Skype 6.3 for Windows 2000 is available in my archive (Windows2000/Programs/Skype_Windows2000.7z).
AnX Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) Ok, I'm gonna get it.This is a driver issue, as a problem with sound recorder got rectified by updating the drivers. But maybe Skype 6.3 will work.EDIT: Still have audio problems, even after updating to Skype 6.3I'm gonna downgrade the audio drivers from 2.71 to 2.6Still nothing... Now I'm not sure what to do.EDIT: Newer Skype is the issue. My HDA works properly only with skype 4.2. So I have to use that. Edited July 14, 2013 by AnX
