What if the name "PRISM" actually came from an actual prism splitter of optical fibers? :unsure:

Very good. I like that analogy. Since a crystal like that can separate "white" light into its constituent colors or wavelengths, the white light represents a mixed stream of communications and the individual colors are the specific ones that they pull out.

It would seem they got lucky with that name. Or not :whistle:
